Unilorin to admit less than 11,000 out of 103,238 applicants – VC

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali, has said that out of 103,238 applicants comprising 21,082 males and 52,156 females for admission to the university for next session, the university will be able to accommodate less than 11,000.

He stated that the university was receiving high admission pressure from applicants even when some federal universities, according to him, had 148 admission seekers.

Ambali spoke on Monday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, during Unilorin’s 32nd convocation media briefing.

He said the institution remained committed to improving its services, expanding its facilities and furthering its frontier through innovative programmes.

He added that it was more vigorously committed to meeting the rationale for the establishment of the university, as stated in the Third National Development Plan.
